Medical Mission

Over 2000 Nigerians Saturday 17th August benefited from the public health care programme put together by Pathcare Doctors on Air, a Classic FM programme hosted by Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Health services rendered at Saturday’s event includes blood pressure, Blood Glucose, cholesterol, breast screening, eye check among others.
Observers at the annual event who got free medical treatment enjoined other Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State to follow suit to provide the teeming population of Lagos State with quality health services.
Chairman of the Yaba LCDA Honourable Jide Jimoh told journalists that the Yaba LCDA which is health driven will not rest on its oars and will continue to deliver its health promises to the people.
Also speaking, Sponsors of Doctors on Air, Doctors Mr and Mrs Ajayi are already looking ahead to next year’s health care programme.
Dr Ajayi however admitted that the organizers were faced with the challenge of space; he noted that organizers will look to expand on space in order to accommodate more patience as they prepare for next year’s programme.
Also on hand was Doctor Ogor Egbuna a medical director at kidney solution. Dr Egbuna advised Nigerians to go for regular medical check up. He decried a situation whereby people wait for symptoms to occur before going for medical checks; he noted that such delay could result in health complications which may prove stubborn to treat.
An eye specialist Dr Ani who works with the Nigeria Airforce however called on the Federal government and ministry of health to include eye treatment in primary health care given the enormity of the challenges in the sector.
Two of the beneficiaries at Saturdays Doctors on air programme Mrs. Taiwo Ogunjo and Mr. Justine Okuma expressed satisfaction with the services they got from the health experts and called on other health institutions and NGOs to join Pathcare Doctors on air in delivering health care services to underprivileged Nigerian.
The programmed was organized in partnership with The Bridge Clinic, Naija 102.7 FM, Classic 97.3 FM, Renaissance Medical, Chike Okoli Foundation, Medical Women Association, Kidney Solution and others too numerous to mention.
