In the spirit of Christmas, Classic 97.3FM celebrated the yuletide with some orphanages to mark the fourth year of the toy drive show-a Classic FM annual programme.
The Classic fm crew led by the station’s MD/CEO, Mr Chris Ubosi presented lots of toys, food and beverages donated by fans of the radio station to put smiles on the faces of orphans.
Receiving the items at the Bales of Mercy Orphanage infant home Ifako Lagos, Executive Director Pastor Ngozi Igbokwe expressed her joy and profound gratitude to Classic fm listeners who donated the items.
At the Love Home Orphanage Magodo Lagos, Blessing Nduka who spoke on behalf of the Executive Director described the gesture as an invaluable sign of love. She however called for more support for the upkeep of the children.
The toy drive show also visited the heritage home Maryland where month’s old babies are being taken care off. Admin officer of the orphanage Mr Akinola Kola pointed out that individuals and corporate bodies have been very helpful, even though there are challenges running orphanages.
The 2013 Toy Drive was organized by Classic 97.3 fm in partnership with Santaplus experiential.
